1. In order to make French toast, Richard must fry both sides of a bread slice for 30 seconds. His frying pan can only hold two slices
of bread at once. How can he make three slices of French toast in only 1 1/2 minutes instead of 2 minutes?

2. Above is the shape you must draw on paper to do this puzzle. It is a 3 by 3 "magic" square. Write in the numbers
7 om the first box at the top left row. Next write in the top right box the number 11. In the second row put in the middle box an 8.
Next, put a 5 in the bottom left box. Now comes the fun part. Using the numbers from 4 to 12 complete the square so that the
totals of each row, column, and diagonal are the same. Write the totals just outside you square, at the end of the lines.
This kind of Math puzzle was the same kind Ben Franklin loved to solve. Have fun.

3. Once there was a man who had to take a wolf, a goat, and a cabbage across the river. But his boat was so small it could hold only himself and one other thing. The man didn't know what to do. How could he take the wolf, the goat, and the cabbage over one at a time, so the wolf would not eat the goat and the goat would not eat the cabbage? (Hint there are 2 solutions to this puzzle)
CM- He brings the goat then brings the cabbage but brings back the goat then brings the wolf then brings the goat back accross
Mrs. M-nice job CM, can you figure out the second way?
PB- He brings the cabbage, goes back and picks up the wolf, he brings the wolf, goes back and brings the goat.B-]
